Effects of resveratrol on heart and metabolism in overweight individuals
Evaluation of the Metabolic Profile and Autonomic and Cardiovascular Recovery in Response to the Acute Use of Resveratrol in Individuals With Overweight and Obesity
This study is testing if taking resveratrol can help overweight people improve their heart health and metabolism while they exercise.

What this trial studies
This study investigates the potential benefits of resveratrol supplementation in improving cardiovascular autonomic recovery and metabolic profiles in individuals with overweight and grade I obesity. Participants will undergo submaximal aerobic exercises while their heart rate variability (HRV) will be monitored to assess autonomic nervous system adaptation. The research aims to highlight the role of polyphenols, particularly resveratrol, in reducing obesity-related health risks and improving overall cardiovascular health. By focusing on the acute effects of resveratrol, the study seeks to provide insights into its potential as an adjuvant treatment for metabolic disorders.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals classified as overweight or having grade I obesity.
Not a fit: Patients with cardiorespiratory or neurological disorders, skeletal muscle injuries, or other impairments preventing exercise may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved cardiovascular health and metabolic profiles for individuals with overweight and obesity.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of resveratrol has been studied, this specific approach focusing on cardiovascular autonomic recovery in overweight individuals is relatively novel.
