What this trial studies

This study compares the effectiveness of postural exercises alone versus postural exercises combined with breathing exercises in individuals with forward head posture (FHP). FHP is a common postural issue that can lead to musculoskeletal problems and breathing difficulties. The trial will involve 36 participants aged 20 to 35, who will be randomly assigned to two groups: one receiving both exercise regimes and the other receiving only postural exercises. Assessments will be conducted to measure pain, range of motion, and craniovertebral angle before treatment, after 5 weeks, and at the end of the 10-week treatment period.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 20 to 35 with a craniovertebral angle of less than 49 degrees.

Not a fit: Patients with a history of thoracic or spinal surgery, traumatic neck injuries, or chronic neuromuscular pain may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a more effective treatment protocol for individuals suffering from forward head posture.

How similar studies have performed: While there is existing literature on postural and breathing exercises, this specific comparison of combined versus single interventions in FHP is relatively novel.
