What this trial studies
This study investigates how two different physical activity interventions impact academic performance, cognition, wellbeing, health, and motivation in school children. One intervention, 'MOVE & LEARN', focuses on fine and gross motor activities closely related to learning tasks, while the other, 'RUN, JUMP & FUN', emphasizes aerobic exercise without a direct connection to learning. The goal is to determine which approach is more effective in enhancing academic outcomes for children in 3rd grade.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children in 3rd grade without cognitive or physical disabilities.
Not a fit: Children with cognitive or physical disabilities that hinder participation in the activities may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved academic performance and overall wellbeing in school children through tailored physical activity programs.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown positive effects of physical activity on cognitive function and academic performance, suggesting that this approach may yield beneficial results.
