What this trial studies

This clinical trial investigates the acute effects of osteopathic visceral mobilization techniques combined with diaphragmatic breathing exercises on urinary dysfunction in patients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Participants will be randomly assigned to either a treatment group receiving both interventions or a control group receiving only breathing exercises. Evaluations will occur before, immediately after, and one week post-intervention to assess the effectiveness of the treatment. The study aims to fill a gap in current rehabilitation methods for urinary dysfunction in MS patients.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis who have experienced urinary dysfunction for at least six months.

Not a fit: Patients with cognitive problems, pelvic organ prolapse, pregnancy, or those who have undergone abdominal surgery may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a novel non-pharmacological approach to managing urinary dysfunction in patients with Multiple Sclerosis.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited research on the specific combination of techniques used in this study, similar approaches in manual therapy have shown promise in other conditions.
