What this trial studies

This interventional study aims to investigate whether wearing external nasal dilator strips during sleep can improve both objective and perceived sleep quality, as well as influence immediate post-waking blood pressure and heart rate variability. The nasal strips work by dilating the nostrils, which may enhance nasal breathing and reduce air resistance. By understanding the impact of these strips on cardiovascular and sleep health, the study seeks to provide valuable insights into their potential benefits. Participants will be monitored using mobile applications to track their health metrics.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy adults aged 18-30 with a BMI under 30 who can use nasal dilator strips.

Not a fit: Patients with existing cardiovascular, respiratory, or other significant health conditions, as well as those unable to breathe through the nose, may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved sleep quality and cardiovascular health for individuals using nasal dilator strips.

How similar studies have performed: While the specific use of nasal dilator strips in this context may be novel, related studies have shown that nasal breathing can positively affect cardiovascular health and sleep quality.
