What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of Muscle Energy Technique (MET) combined with stationary cycling versus MET alone on children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who exhibit toe walking. The research involves 26 participants aged 4 to 10 years diagnosed with ASD and toe walking, who will receive treatment three times a week for eight weeks. Participants will be divided into two groups, one receiving MET with stationary cycling and the other receiving MET without cycling, with various clinical assessments conducted to evaluate outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are children aged 4 to 10 years diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and exhibiting toe walking.
Not a fit: Patients with comorbidities, cognitive dysfunction, or limb deformities may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could improve mobility and reduce toe walking in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on this specific combination of interventions, similar approaches have shown promise in improving mobility in children with ASD.
