What this trial studies
This study evaluates the impact of Swedish massage and percussion therapy on muscle performance parameters, including delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), muscle viscoelastic properties, quadriceps strength, and vertical jump performance in healthy, physically active individuals. Participants will undergo an exercise program focusing on quadriceps, followed by one of the two interventions to assess recovery and performance enhancement. The study aims to understand how these therapies can optimize recovery and improve physical performance after intense exercise.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy adults aged 18 to 30 who are physically active and have no recent history of musculoskeletal injuries.
Not a fit: Patients with chronic pain conditions, autoimmune disorders, or those currently taking medications affecting muscle performance may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights into effective recovery strategies that enhance muscle performance and reduce soreness for physically active individuals.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown positive outcomes with similar recovery interventions, indicating potential for success in this approach.
