What this trial studies
This clinical trial evaluates the impact of laying on of hands therapies on the mental and physical health of women suffering from fibromyalgia. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: a control group with no intervention, a group receiving laying on of hands without spiritual intent, and a group receiving laying on of hands with spiritual intent. The study will measure vital signs and pain levels before and after the interventions over a 10-week period. The goal is to assess improvements in well-being and quality of life for those with fibromyalgia.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are women under 18 years old who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia according to ACR 2010 criteria.
Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant, undergoing cancer treatment, or unable to understand the study questionnaires may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could provide a non-invasive method to alleviate pain and improve quality of life for women with fibromyalgia.
How similar studies have performed: While the concept of laying on of hands is not widely tested in clinical settings, similar complementary therapies have shown varying degrees of success in improving patient outcomes.
