What this trial studies
This observational study examines the impact of job-related activities on hand grip strength and body composition among female physiotherapists and dentists during their internship year. Fifty participants from each profession will be assessed at the beginning and after six months of clinical work using a digital hand dynamometer and an InBody device. The study aims to compare the physical responses of these two groups to their respective job demands. The findings could provide insights into the physical challenges faced by these professionals during their training.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are female physiotherapists and dentists aged 21 to 24 who are in their internship year and are medically stable.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of metabolic disorders, muscular or neurological disorders, or those undergoing hormonal treatment or significant dietary changes may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could help identify specific job-related stressors and physical demands that may inform better training and support for female physiotherapists and dentists.
How similar studies have performed: While there may be studies on job-related stress in healthcare professions, this specific comparison between physiotherapists and dentists during their internship year is relatively novel.
