What this trial studies

This study investigates how fruit and vegetable enzyme supplementation can help reduce fatigue and improve aerobic capacity in elderly women after high-intensity interval exercise (HIIE) using exergaming. Sixteen participants aged 65 and above are divided into an enzyme group and a placebo group, performing HIIE with the Nintendo Switch Ring Fit Adventure. The study measures blood lactate levels, heart rate, perceived exertion, and training impulse to assess the impact of the enzyme supplementation over a 14-day period. The goal is to determine if these supplements can alleviate the physiological stress associated with HIIE.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy elderly women aged 65 and above who regularly exercise and have no significant health issues.

Not a fit: Patients with a history of heart-related diseases or chronic conditions such as diabetes may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance recovery and exercise performance in elderly individuals, improving their overall health and quality of life.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on this specific approach, similar studies exploring enzyme supplementation in exercise recovery have shown promising results.
