What this trial studies

This randomized controlled study compares the effects of rosa damascena and frankincense essential oils on labor pain, anxiety, and childbirth comfort among pregnant women. The research aims to determine the effectiveness of these oils during labor and identify which oil provides greater relief. By assessing pain levels, anxiety, and comfort, the study seeks to enhance the childbirth experience for women. The findings could contribute to alternative pain management strategies during labor.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are pregnant women in the latent phase of labor.

Not a fit: Patients with complicated pregnancies, planned cesarean sections, respiratory diseases, or allergies to the essential oils will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a natural and effective method for managing labor pain and anxiety, improving the overall childbirth experience for women.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown some effectiveness of rosa damascena oil for labor pain, but research on its impact on comfort and anxiety during labor is limited, making this study a valuable exploration.
