What this trial studies

This clinical study investigates the effects of two different electrotherapy interventions, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) and high-voltage pulsed galvanic stimulation (HVPGS), on pain and hand function in young individuals suffering from neck pain. Participants aged 18-30 will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two interventions or a placebo over a total of 20 sessions, each lasting 20 minutes, three times a week. Evaluations will occur before the intervention, after the first session, and one week after completing the 20 sessions to assess the effectiveness of the treatments.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are young adults aged 18-30 who are experiencing neck pain.

Not a fit: Patients who have received anti-inflammatory treatment, physical therapy, or regular exercise in the last three months may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide effective non-invasive treatment options for young individuals suffering from neck pain.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with electrotherapy for pain management, suggesting that this approach may be effective.
