What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate how eccentric exercises influence gait parameters in young adults suffering from patellofemoral pain syndrome. Participants aged 18-35 with chronic knee pain will undergo a series of assessments, including pain ratings and gait analysis, before and after the intervention. The study will utilize methods such as the Numeric Pain Rating Scale, goniometry, and a 30-meter walk test to collect data on pain levels and movement mechanics. The findings could provide insights into effective rehabilitation strategies for this condition.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are young adult females aged 18-35 who have been experiencing knee pain for at least two months.
Not a fit: Patients with diagnosed knee joint instability or previous surgeries on the lower limb may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved rehabilitation techniques for individuals with patellofemoral pain syndrome, enhancing their mobility and quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on the specific effects of eccentric exercises for this condition, similar approaches have shown promise in improving outcomes for other musculoskeletal disorders.
