What this trial studies
This project consists of two studies examining the effects of dairy cheese and its dairy-free alternative on satiety and blood glucose levels in healthy young adults. Participants will consume these cheeses ad libitum, allowing researchers to assess their satiating properties and postprandial glycemic responses. Secondary outcomes will include sensory characteristics of the foods, diet-induced thermogenesis, subjective feelings of fatigue and energy, gastrointestinal comfort, and overall food intake. The findings aim to enhance understanding of the health properties associated with these cheese types.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy young adults without chronic diseases or dietary restrictions.
Not a fit: Patients with chronic diseases, such as diabetes, or those with dietary restrictions like lactose intolerance will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights into dietary choices that improve satiety and blood glucose management for healthier eating habits.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on the effects of dairy and plant-based foods on health, this specific comparison of dairy and vegan cheese regarding satiety and blood glucose is relatively novel.
