What this trial studies

This study investigates the impact of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) cosmetic acupuncture on skin health and aging indicators. It involves 40 participants aged 30 to 60, who are randomly assigned to either an intervention group receiving acupuncture or a waiting list group. The acupuncture treatment is administered twice a week over three weeks, and skin assessments are conducted before and after using the Antera 3D smart skin detector to evaluate various skin conditions. Participants' satisfaction and acceptance of the treatment are also measured.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are healthy adults aged 30 to 60 who have not received acupuncture beauty treatments in the past six months.

Not a fit: Patients with facial cosmetic fillers, recent cosmetic surgery, or certain medical conditions may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this treatment could enhance skin health and reduce signs of aging for participants.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on the specific effects of TCM cosmetic acupuncture, similar acupuncture approaches have shown promise in improving skin conditions in other studies.
