What this trial studies
This clinical trial investigates the impact of moderate-intensity combined aerobic and resistance exercise on semen quality among Chinese college students. Participants will be randomly assigned to either an intervention group, which will engage in exercise three times a week for 12 weeks, or a control group that will maintain their usual activities. Semen quality and serum sex hormone levels will be assessed before and after the intervention to determine any changes. The study aims to provide insights into how physical activity may influence reproductive health in young men.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are healthy college students aged 18 to 24 with low physical activity levels and sperm motility below 32%.
Not a fit: Patients with smoking or alcohol dependence, or those who have undergone reproductive system surgery, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved semen quality and reproductive health for young men through exercise.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited research specifically on this combined exercise approach, previous studies have shown positive effects of exercise on semen quality.
