What this trial studies
This study investigates how brain training games, specifically Lumosity and simulation games like SimCity BuildIt, impact cognitive function and quality of life in older adults diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Participants aged 50 and above will engage in these games to assess their effectiveness in improving cognitive abilities and overall well-being. The study aims to provide a cost-effective intervention that could help delay or improve cognitive decline associated with aging.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are older adults aged 50 and above with a MOCA score between 18-25 indicating mild cognitive impairment.
Not a fit: Patients with moderate to severe cognitive impairment or diagnosed dementia, depression, or other mental health issues may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could enhance cognitive function and quality of life for older adults with mild cognitive impairment.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results with brain training games in improving cognitive function, suggesting potential success for this approach.
