What this trial studies
This clinical trial evaluates how different doses of a standardized Black Garlic Extract (ABG+/GarlACE) affect cardiovascular risk factors in individuals with Grade I Hypertension. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either a low dose (250 mg/day), a high dose (600 mg/day), or a placebo for a duration of 12 weeks. The study aims to determine if there is a dose-response relationship in reducing blood pressure and improving lipid profiles among the participants.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are men and women diagnosed with Grade I Hypertension who are not currently taking antihypertensive medications.
Not a fit: Patients with acute or chronic kidney disease, thyroid issues, or a history of heart attack or stroke may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a natural treatment option for managing blood pressure and cardiovascular risk in patients with mild hypertension.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on the specific effects of Black Garlic Extract, other studies on garlic and cardiovascular health have shown promising results, indicating potential for success.
