What this trial studies

This study investigates the impact of adding elastic band exercises to traditional warm-up routines on the shooting performance and muscle properties of handball players aged 12-18. The research focuses on how these warm-up modifications can enhance muscle viscoelasticity and overall athletic performance. By targeting the upper extremities, this study aims to fill a gap in existing literature regarding warm-up effectiveness in young female handball athletes. Participants will engage in both traditional warm-up and resistance band exercises to assess improvements in shooting capabilities.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are female handball players aged 12-18 who train actively at least 3-4 times a week.

Not a fit: Patients with orthopedic or neurological issues, chronic illnesses, or recent upper extremity surgeries may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could enhance shooting performance and reduce injury risk among young female handball players.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited research on the effects of resistance band warm-ups specifically for upper extremities in handball, similar approaches have shown promise in other sports contexts.
