What this trial studies
This study investigates the impact of tangotherapy, a form of dance therapy using Argentine tango, on cognitive, affective, and motor functions in individuals with Parkinson's Disease. It aims to explore how engaging in dance can enhance physical fitness and cognitive well-being, potentially improving symptoms such as tremors and cognitive deficits. Participants will be assessed for their motor skills, balance, and cognitive performance before and after the intervention. The study focuses on individuals diagnosed with mild to moderate Parkinson's Disease, utilizing a structured dance program to promote multisensory engagement and social interaction.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals diagnosed with mild to moderate Parkinson's Disease who are not currently engaged in similar dance or physical therapy programs.
Not a fit: Patients with severe Parkinson's Disease, other neurological conditions, or those who have recently undergone physical therapy may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve the quality of life for patients with Parkinson's Disease by enhancing their motor and cognitive functions.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results for dance-based therapies in improving motor and cognitive functions in patients with Parkinson's Disease, indicating a potential for success in this approach.
