What this trial studies

This clinical trial investigates the impact of a structured exercise program on patients diagnosed with Chiari Type 1 Malformation who have undergone surgery. Participants will be randomly assigned to either an exercise group, which will engage in a 6-week exercise regimen, or a control group that will not receive any intervention during this period. Assessments will be conducted at three different time points to evaluate the outcomes of the exercise program on balance and proprioception. After the initial phase, the control group will also undergo the exercise program for 6 weeks, allowing for comparative analysis of results.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 18-65 diagnosed with Chiari Type 1 Malformation who are scheduled for surgical intervention.

Not a fit: Patients with other primary neurological diseases, severe cognitive impairments, vestibular problems, or prior orthopedic surgeries may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve recovery and quality of life for patients with Chiari Type 1 Malformation through enhanced physical function.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on exercise interventions specifically for Chiari Type 1 Malformation, similar approaches in other neurological conditions have shown promising results.
