Effects of aerobic exercise on blood cell ratios in burn patients
The Effect of Aerobic Exercise on Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio, Platelet-Lymphocyte Ratio and Lymphocyte-Monocyte Ratio in Burn Patients: A Randomized Controlled Study
NA · Hasan Kalyoncu University · NCT06013553

What this trial studies
This study investigates how aerobic exercise impacts the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio, platelet-lymphocyte ratio, and lymphocyte-monocyte ratio in burn patients. Participants will be divided into two groups: one receiving aerobic exercise and a control group. The aim is to assess the potential benefits of exercise in managing the hypermetabolic and inflammatory responses associated with severe burn injuries. By monitoring these blood cell ratios, the study seeks to provide insights into the overall health and recovery of burn patients.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are conscious burn patients over 18 years old who are enterally fed and do not have additional trauma or chronic diseases.
Not a fit: Patients with inhalation burns, multiple organ failure, or significant chronic diseases may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve recovery outcomes and immune function in burn patients through targeted exercise interventions.
How similar studies have performed: While the approach of using exercise in burn patients is known, the specific focus on these blood cell ratios is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
