Effects of a low-salt diet on inflammation and blood vessel function in psoriasis
Effects of Low Salt Dietary Intake on Th17-Mediated Inflammation and Vascular Reactivity in Patients With Psoriasis

What this trial studies
This study investigates how a two-week low-salt diet affects inflammation and blood vessel function in patients with psoriasis vulgaris. It focuses on the role of sodium in exacerbating Th17-mediated inflammation and its impact on cardiovascular health. Participants will be monitored for changes in microvascular vasodilation and inflammatory markers. The study aims to clarify the relationship between dietary sodium and psoriasis-related cardiovascular risks.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults diagnosed with psoriasis vulgaris who have not used certain therapies for specified periods.
Not a fit: Patients under 18 years old or those with other significant immune-mediated diseases may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights into dietary interventions that may reduce inflammation and improve vascular health in psoriasis patients.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific approach of a low-salt diet in psoriasis is novel, previous studies have indicated a link between dietary sodium and inflammation, suggesting potential for success.
