What this trial studies

This study evaluates the effectiveness of the 'Parents as Partners' program, designed to support couples transitioning to parenthood with a child up to 3 years old. The program consists of eight weekly group sessions lasting two hours each, focusing on enhancing coparenting relationships through a structured curriculum. Utilizing a mixed-method approach, the study will assess both quantitative and qualitative outcomes, including participant perceptions of the program's usefulness. Couples will be recruited from nurseries and private clinics, and the sessions will be facilitated by trained psychologists.

Good fit: Ideal candidates are heterosexual couples who are first-time parents living together with a child under 3 years old.

Not a fit: Couples with severe mental health issues, domestic violence situations, or problematic substance use may not benefit from this program.

Why it matters
