What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a safety-promoting intervention video designed for pregnant women in Nepal who may be experiencing domestic violence. Participants will complete a questionnaire and then watch either the intervention video or a control video focused on healthy pregnancy. The study will follow these women until birth, collecting data on their experiences and outcomes. The goal is to assess whether the intervention video encourages women to take safety actions regarding domestic violence.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are pregnant women between 12 to 20 weeks of gestation attending routine antenatal care in Nepal.
Not a fit: Patients who are outside the 12 to 20 weeks gestation window or those who are mentally unable to participate may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could empower pregnant women to seek help and improve their safety during pregnancy.
How similar studies have performed: While interventions addressing domestic violence during pregnancy are not widely tested in Nepal, similar approaches have shown promise in other contexts.
