What this trial studies

This study evaluates a mobile-based early intervention program designed to address hazardous gaming among adolescents, which can lead to gaming disorder. The intervention is grounded in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) principles and aims to prevent the progression to more severe gaming issues. Participants are divided into an intervention group, which receives the program for one month, and a control group, which does not receive any intervention. Assessments are conducted at baseline and two months post-intervention to measure changes in gaming behavior, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adolescents diagnosed with hazardous gaming as per ICD-11 criteria.

Not a fit: Patients with a clinical diagnosis of gaming disorder or serious physical illness may not benefit from this intervention.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly reduce the risk of developing gaming disorder in adolescents.

How similar studies have performed: While there are few evidence-based interventions for hazardous gaming, this technology-based approach is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
