Effect of Occlusal Balance on Bone Density in Complete Denture Patients

Occlusal Balance Effect on Mandibular Bone Density by Using Fractal Analysis in Complete Denture Patients (Split-Mouth Study)

What this trial studies

This observational study investigates the impact of different occlusal schemes on mandibular bone density in completely edentulous patients using fractal analysis. Participants will undergo digital occlusal adjustments with the Occulosense device to assess how these adjustments influence bone density. The study aims to determine the optimal occlusal scheme that enhances masticatory performance and improves patient satisfaction. By employing digital panoramic radiographs, the study will analyze changes in bone density related to occlusal balance.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are completely edentulous individuals aged 45 to 75 with a Class I skeletal relationship and adequate inter-arch space.

Not a fit: Patients with temporomandibular disorders, uncontrolled diabetes, or severe psychiatric disorders may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved denture designs that enhance bone density and overall quality of life for edentulous patients.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on occlusal schemes and bone density, this specific approach using fractal analysis is relatively novel.
