What this trial studies

This study evaluates how manual diaphragmatic release combined with aerobic training affects breathing and physical capacity in elderly women with type 2 diabetes. Sixty participants aged 65 to 70 years are randomly assigned to either a treatment group receiving both manual diaphragmatic release and aerobic training or a control group receiving only aerobic training over a 12-week period. Key outcomes measured include ventilatory functions and functional capacity through exercise testing before and after the intervention.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are elderly women aged 65 to 70 with well-controlled type 2 diabetes and mild ventilatory function impairment.

Not a fit: Patients with other types of diabetes, chronic chest diseases, or significant cardiovascular disorders may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could improve breathing and overall physical fitness in elderly women with diabetes.

How similar studies have performed: While similar approaches have been explored, this specific combination of manual diaphragmatic release and aerobic training in this demographic is relatively novel.
