Effect of Electrical Stimulation on Knee Osteoarthritis
Investigation of the Effect of Superimposed Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation With Active Contraction in Patients With Knee Osteoarthritis.

What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of superimposed neuromuscular electrical stimulation combined with active contraction on patients suffering from knee osteoarthritis. It aims to assess improvements in physical function, muscle and joint structure, and overall quality of life. The approach involves using non-invasive electrical stimulation to activate muscles and potentially alleviate symptoms associated with knee osteoarthritis. Participants will receive conventional physiotherapy alongside this innovative treatment to evaluate its effectiveness.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 40-65 with grade 2-3 knee osteoarthritis.
Not a fit: Patients with severe osteoarthritis in other joints or those with contraindications for electrotherapy may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this treatment could significantly improve physical function and quality of life for patients with knee osteoarthritis.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results with neuromuscular electrical stimulation in managing knee osteoarthritis symptoms, indicating potential for success in this approach.
