What this trial studies
This intervention focuses on enhancing adherence to compression therapy among individuals suffering from venous ulcers through an educational program. The study will assess the effectiveness of this program by comparing ulcer size and pain intensity before and after the intervention. It will involve participants over 20 years old who are currently receiving compression treatment for grade 2 venous ulcers. The study design is a feasibility study without a control group, utilizing pre- and post-test comparisons to evaluate outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults over 20 years old with grade 2 venous ulcers who are currently undergoing compression therapy.
Not a fit: Patients with grade 1 venous ulcers or those with cognitive impairments or severe dependencies may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly improve adherence to compression therapy, leading to better healing outcomes for patients with venous ulcers.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have indicated that educational interventions can improve adherence to treatment protocols, suggesting potential success for this approach.
