What this trial studies
This study investigates how providing education on complementary feeding to fathers affects their bonding with infants and the infants' feeding behaviors. It employs various assessment scales to measure father-infant bonding and feeding behaviors before and three months after the educational intervention. The study is conducted with parents of 6-month-old infants at a Child Health Monitoring Polyclinic in Istanbul, where participants are stratified based on specific criteria before being assigned to study and control groups.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are parents of 6-month-old infants who are exclusively breastfed and living together.
Not a fit: Patients may not benefit if their infant has chronic diseases, food allergies, or if they do not meet the inclusion criteria.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance father-infant bonding and improve infant feeding practices.
How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have explored father involvement in infant care, this specific approach focusing on complementary feeding education is relatively novel.
