What this trial studies
This study aims to raise awareness among pregnant women about the health impacts of climate change through education and a short animated film. It targets women in their second and third trimesters attending the antenatal clinic at Konya City Hospital. Participants will receive educational materials and view an animated film designed to enhance their understanding and coping strategies regarding climate change effects on maternal and fetal health. The study will assess the effectiveness of this intervention using self-reported questionnaires before and after the educational session.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are pregnant women aged 18-49 in their second or third trimester with a singleton pregnancy and basic communication skills.
Not a fit: Patients who conceived through assisted reproductive techniques or have high-risk pregnancies may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could empower pregnant women to make informed decisions that positively impact their health and that of their babies in the context of climate change.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited research specifically on this approach, educational interventions using multimedia have shown promise in improving health awareness in various populations.
