Early therapy for distal radius fractures
Early Mobilisation of the Distal Radius Fracture Isokinetic and Functional Evaluation
Józef Piłsudski University of Physical Education · NCT06258928

What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of early rehabilitation therapy in patients with distal radius fractures who have undergone surgical repair using the open reduction internal fixation method. The study will involve 14 participants, assessing their hand function after 6 months of early rehabilitation compared to their nonoperated limb. The primary focus is on achieving faster recovery and independence in daily activities, as well as addressing economic concerns related to returning to work.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18-60 who have sustained a distal radius fracture and have undergone the ORIF procedure.
Not a fit: Patients who have delayed rehabilitation protocols or algodystrophy may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could lead to quicker recovery times and improved hand function for patients with distal radius fractures.
How similar studies have performed: While this approach is not widely tested, similar studies on early rehabilitation have shown promising results in improving recovery times.
