What this trial studies
This study investigates the effectiveness of drawing interventions on depression, resourcefulness, and spiritual health among older adults living in nursing homes in Indonesia. It consists of two stages: the first stage assesses the relationships between various psychological factors using established scales, while the second stage implements a randomized control trial to evaluate the impact of a six-week drawing intervention. Participants will be measured at multiple time points to assess changes in their mental health and well-being. The study aims to provide evidence for art-based interventions in geriatric care.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are older adults residing in nursing homes in Indonesia who are physically able and can communicate in Bahasa Indonesia.
Not a fit: Patients with diagnosed psychiatric illnesses or severe physical disorders may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly enhance the mental health and overall well-being of older adults in nursing homes.
How similar studies have performed: While art interventions have shown promise in various settings, this specific approach targeting older adults in nursing homes is relatively novel.
