What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on patients with pancreatic pseudocysts, which can develop after severe pancreatitis. It aims to evaluate the outcomes of endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided drainage procedures performed at Sahlgrenska University Hospital. The study will document various techniques and equipment used by experienced endosonographers, as well as the clinical outcomes following the drainage. By analyzing these outcomes, the study seeks to provide insights into the best practices for managing pancreatic pseudocysts.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 18 years old who are referred for EUS-guided drainage of a pancreatic pseudocyst.
Not a fit: Patients who do not require pseudocyst drainage or are unable to provide informed consent will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve the management and treatment outcomes for patients with pancreatic pseudocysts.
How similar studies have performed: While the approach of EUS-guided drainage is established, this study aims to refine techniques and outcomes, contributing to ongoing discussions in the field.
