What this trial studies
This is a remotely conducted, decentralized test using the Abbott Lingo continuous glucose monitor to record real-world blood glucose responses to the YES Bar, an all-natural, gluten-free, plant-based snack. Participants wear the Lingo CGM (currently compatible only with iPhone) and perform at least four individual YES Bar eating experiments over a seven-day period, measuring levels before and after consumption. The effort was initiated by the product founder to move beyond anecdote and gather participant-level metabolic data, and it is administered by Efforia, Inc. Participants receive a small gift card as appreciation for completing the protocol.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are U.S. residents who can read English, have an iPhone compatible with the Abbott Lingo CGM, and are willing and able to follow a remote protocol over seven days.
Not a fit: People who do not have a compatible iPhone, cannot wear a continuous glucose monitor, or require specialized medical supervision for blood glucose management may not benefit from participating.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the study could help people know whether YES Bar fits into their diet without producing undesirable blood sugar spikes.
How similar studies have performed: Continuous glucose monitors have been used successfully in other research to measure individual blood sugar responses to specific foods, but product-specific testing for YES Bar is relatively novel.
