Digitally supported personalized nutrition to improve heart pumping after ST‑elevation heart attack
Effect of Digitally Supported Medical Nutrition Therapy on Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction in Patients With ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction: A Randomized Controlled Trial
NA · Saglik Bilimleri Universitesi · NCT07427199
This program will test whether a three-month personalized diet plan with digital support can improve heart pumping (left ventricular ejection fraction) in adults who recently had a STEMI.

What this trial studies
Adults who had a STEMI and meet the age and BMI criteria are enrolled within 72 hours of hospital admission and receive tailored medical nutrition therapy supported by digital content for three months. Dietary guidance is delivered via digital materials and participants follow the program while attending follow-up visits. Heart function (left ventricular ejection fraction) is measured at baseline, one month, and three months, and adherence and clinical data are recorded. The interventional single-center protocol is conducted at Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Hastanesi in Samsun, Turkey.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Adults aged 19–65 who had a recent ST‑elevation myocardial infarction, meet the specified BMI ranges, can enroll within 72 hours of hospital admission, and can commit to three months of follow-up are ideal candidates.
Not a fit: Patients over 65, those with recent significant weight loss, active cancer, chronic renal failure, severe systemic disease, major cognitive impairment, or prior nutrition education are excluded and unlikely to benefit from this intervention.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the program could improve left ventricular ejection fraction after STEMI and make practical dietary support more accessible during recovery.
How similar studies have performed: While cardiac rehab and dietary programs have shown benefits after MI, digitally supported medical nutrition specifically aimed at improving LVEF after STEMI is relatively new and has limited prior evidence.
