What this trial studies
This study aims to create a Digital Laboratory to enhance help-seeking behaviors and speed up treatment initiation for youth aged 12-29 who are at Clinical High Risk for developing psychosis. By utilizing the Health Action Process Approach (HAPA) model, the study will analyze help-seeking patterns in 25,000 youth who screen positive for psychosis risk. It will employ Micro-Randomized Trials and a Sequential Multiple Assignment Randomized Trial to develop personalized strategies for advancing help-seeking and will link participants to local clinical care through a national network. The study seeks to establish effective thresholds for identifying clinical high risk online and to curate a large dataset of youth with CHR.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are youth aged 12-29 who live within a 50-mile radius of a participating AMP-SCZ site and can complete the English language PQ-B screening.
Not a fit: Patients outside the age range of 12-29 or those who do not live near an AMP-SCZ site may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could significantly improve early intervention and treatment outcomes for youth at risk of developing psychosis.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using digital strategies for mental health interventions, but this approach is novel in its specific focus on youth at risk for psychosis.
