What this trial studies
This project evaluates the effectiveness of the Afinidata platform, a digital tool designed to provide individualized parenting support to caregivers of young children in low-resource settings. By utilizing social media messengers, the platform delivers evidence-based information and promotes developmentally appropriate activities for children. The study aims to assess the reach, impact, cost-effectiveness, and scalability of this intervention across 164 communities in Peru. Primary outcomes will focus on children's overall development at age 2, while secondary outcomes will include parental engagement and various aspects of children's development.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are families with young children residing in the targeted communities of San Marcos, Cajabamba, and Cajamarca provinces.
Not a fit: Children with disabilities or families planning to leave the study area may not benefit from this intervention.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly enhance early childhood development outcomes for children in low-income settings.
