What this trial studies

This interventional program delivers an occupational balance–focused digital well-being education to Turkish university students aged 18–24 who can read Turkish. Participants will receive structured education sessions aimed at reshaping daily activities and lowering problematic screen use, with outcomes measured before and after the program for digital addiction and occupational balance. Individuals with diagnosed learning disabilities or ADHD or who work in addition to studying are excluded to reduce confounding. The intervention is delivered at Istanbul Medipol University as a preventive occupational therapy approach to support young people's social and academic functioning.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are voluntary, Turkish-speaking university students aged 18–24 who are currently enrolled and not employed alongside their studies.

Not a fit: Students with ADHD or specific learning disabilities, those who work in addition to studying, or non–Turkish speakers are unlikely to benefit from this particular education program.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the program could reduce digital addiction and improve students' balance of daily activities, leading to better social, academic, and personal well-being.

How similar studies have performed: Some digital well-being and psychoeducational programs for young people have shown benefits for screen use and well-being, but occupational-balance–focused interventions for university students have limited prior evidence and remain relatively novel.
