What this trial studies
This interventional pilot uses a prototype digital game built on relationship-enhancement principles to prompt structured, playful interactions between caregivers and children. Caregiver–child dyads will use the game while a control group follows an alternative or minimal-contact condition to compare outcomes. The study will collect measures of parent–child connection, cooperation during play, and caregiver-reported parenting confidence before and after the intervention. Researchers will also track feasibility and acceptability of the digital format to inform further development.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal participants are caregiver–child dyads interested in improving their relationship who can attend sessions at the University of Miami and use a digital game prototype.
Not a fit: Individuals who are not part of a caregiver–child dyad or families requiring intensive clinical treatment for severe attachment or behavioral disorders are unlikely to benefit from this prototype.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the game could give families an easy, engaging tool to strengthen parent–child bonds and increase parenting confidence.
How similar studies have performed: Relationship-focused parenting programs have shown benefit for attachment and parenting skills, but delivering these principles via a digital game is relatively novel and has limited prior evidence.
