What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effectiveness of a structured digital-based education program aimed at enhancing disaster literacy among nursing students in Turkey. Participants will undergo pre-testing and post-testing to measure changes in their disaster preparedness beliefs and knowledge over an eight-week intervention consisting of 15 sessions. The control group will not receive any intervention during this period but will be informed about the training content afterward. The study employs simple randomization to allocate participants and utilizes blinded evaluators for data collection and analysis.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are nursing students enrolled in a program who can communicate in Turkish and have a basic understanding of English.
Not a fit: Patients who have previously participated in any disaster training program or cannot attend the required sessions will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve disaster preparedness and response capabilities among nursing students, ultimately benefiting public health and safety.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific approach of structured digital education in disaster preparedness is relatively novel, similar educational interventions have shown success in enhancing knowledge and preparedness in other contexts.
