What this trial studies
This clinical trial evaluates the effectiveness of a digital coaching program that prescribes physical activity to patients experiencing post-stroke fatigue (PSF). Participants will be selected from the National Stroke Register and will undergo a randomized controlled trial comparing an intervention group receiving digital coaching with a control group. The study will assess changes in physical activity levels and fatigue symptoms over a 12-week intervention period, followed by a 6-month follow-up. The aim is to provide an accessible alternative to traditional rehabilitation methods for stroke survivors.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are stroke survivors aged 1 to 5 years post-stroke who experience moderate to severe post-stroke fatigue and live in Gästrikland.
Not a fit: Patients with severe strokes or those diagnosed with depression may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve the quality of life for stroke survivors by reducing fatigue and increasing physical activity.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited evidence specifically addressing digital coaching for PSF, similar interventions focusing on physical activity have shown promise in improving outcomes for stroke survivors.
