What this trial studies
This project aims to develop and validate a digital active aging program designed to enhance the biopsychosocial functions of older adults aged 60 and above, focusing on both Chinese older immigrants and English-speaking White Canadian older adults. The study employs a pretest-training-posttest design, where participants will undergo a series of assessments before and after a 4-week intervention delivered via Zoom. Participants will be randomly assigned to different training conditions, including resilience-building, cognitive training, and social engagement modules. The goal is to evaluate the effectiveness of these interventions in promoting healthy aging and resilience.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are healthy older adults aged 65 and over who can communicate in Mandarin or English and have access to the internet for participation.
Not a fit: Patients with significant cognitive impairment, those unfit for light physical exercises, or without internet access may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve the physical, psychological, and social well-being of older adults, helping them to age actively and resiliently.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success with digital interventions aimed at promoting active aging, indicating that this approach has potential.
