What this trial studies

This study investigates the effects of diaphragmatic release on sleep quality in pregnant women experiencing sleep disordered breathing (SDB) during their third trimester. It aims to provide a scientific basis for the clinical application of this physical therapy technique, addressing the hormonal and physiological changes that contribute to SDB in pregnancy. The study will involve pregnant women aged 30-40 with a BMI of 25-30 who have been diagnosed with SDB. By focusing on this specific population, the research seeks to enhance maternal and fetal outcomes associated with sleep quality.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are pregnant women in their third trimester, aged 30-40, with a BMI between 25-30, and diagnosed with sleep disordered breathing.

Not a fit: Patients with previous pulmonary surgery, pulmonary diseases, asthma, neurological disorders, or severe musculoskeletal disorders will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve sleep quality and overall health outcomes for pregnant women suffering from sleep disordered breathing.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on the specific application of diaphragmatic release for this condition, similar interventions have shown promise in improving sleep quality in other populations.
