What this trial studies
Researchers will use a three-phase Delphi approach to gather expert opinion on how to develop effective serious games for rehabilitation. Phase 1 uses an online survey to identify important tools, methods, and cross-cutting principles for each development stage. Phase 2 holds online focus groups via Microsoft Teams to discuss survey results and fill gaps. Phase 3 runs iterative online ranking surveys until a consensus blueprint for development and implementation is reached.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal participants are professionals with experience in developing serious games for rehabilitation, such as clinicians, researchers, game designers, or engineers, who can take part in online surveys and focus groups.
Not a fit: Because this is an expert consensus project rather than a patient treatment study, individual patients are unlikely to receive direct therapeutic benefit from participation.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the consensus blueprint could lead to better-designed therapeutic games that improve rehabilitation outcomes and speed real-world implementation.
How similar studies have performed: Delphi and consensus methods have been widely used to create guidelines for rehabilitation technologies and digital health, though resulting games still require clinical testing to confirm patient benefit.
