Developing a recognition system for acromegaly
Developing a Simple Recognition System of Acromegaly
This study is trying to see if a new 3D imaging system can help spot acromegaly earlier by comparing the features of people with the condition to those of healthy adults.

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to compare the 3D stereophotography features of patients with acromegaly to those of healthy individuals. By analyzing these differences, the researchers hope to create a computerized model that can assist in the early detection and screening of acromegaly. Given the slow progression of the disease and the challenges in current diagnostic methods, this approach could provide a more accessible and cost-effective solution for identifying patients at risk. The study will include both acromegaly patients and healthy adults aged 20 to 80 years.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 20 to 80 years, including both diagnosed acromegaly patients and healthy adults.
Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant or younger than 20 or older than 80 years old will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to earlier detection and treatment of acromegaly, improving patient outcomes and reducing associated comorbidities.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on acromegaly diagnosis, this specific approach using 3D stereophotography is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
