What this trial studies

This observational study aims to create a multi-factor kinesiophobia scale specifically designed for individuals with shoulder injuries. Participants will undergo two assessments, where the first will evaluate various outcomes and the second will focus on the newly developed kinesiophobia scale. The study seeks to address the limitations of existing scales that do not adequately assess kinesiophobia in the context of upper extremity conditions. By gathering data from participants with specific shoulder pathologies, the study aims to enhance the understanding of kinesiophobia in this population.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals with shoulder injuries who have a Tampa Kinesiophobia Score greater than 37 points.

Not a fit: Patients with malignancies, psychiatric drug use, or those who have received physiotherapy in the last six months may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a more accurate tool for assessing kinesiophobia in patients with shoulder injuries, leading to better-targeted interventions.

How similar studies have performed: While there may be existing kinesiophobia scales, this specific approach to developing a scale tailored for shoulder injuries is novel and has not been extensively tested.
