Cryopreservation of ovarian tissue and its effects on ovarian function
Cryopreservation Of Ovarian Tissue: Assessment Of Reimplantation Rate And Effects On Ovarian Function
This study tests if freezing and later reimplanting ovarian tissue can help women with premature ovarian failure, often caused by cancer treatments, regain their ovarian function.

What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on the cryopreservation of ovarian tissue in patients facing premature ovarian failure (POI) due to gonadotoxic treatments like chemotherapy and radiotherapy. It aims to evaluate the reimplantation rate of the cryopreserved ovarian tissue and its subsequent effects on ovarian function. The study includes patients aged 13-55 who have undergone ovarian tissue sampling and cryopreservation at a specific medical facility. The findings could provide insights into the effectiveness of this fertility preservation method for cancer patients.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are women aged 13-55 who require gonadotropic treatments and have undergone ovarian tissue cryopreservation.
Not a fit: Patients with active oncological pathology or relapse may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance fertility preservation options for cancer patients facing premature ovarian failure.
How similar studies have performed: While the approach of ovarian tissue cryopreservation has been explored, this specific observational study aims to provide further insights into its effectiveness, making it a valuable addition to existing literature.
