What this trial studies
This project aims to co-create suicide prevention tools specifically designed for men who have experienced suicidal thoughts or behavior. Researchers will conduct up to 10 online or in-person meetings, each lasting a maximum of 2 hours, where men aged 18 and older will provide feedback and share their needs to ensure the tools developed are user-friendly and effective. The initiative recognizes the unique challenges men face regarding help-seeking behavior and aims to address these through participatory research.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this project are men aged 18 and older who have experienced suicidal thoughts within the past three years.
Not a fit: Patients who are currently experiencing acute suicidality or have limited comprehension may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this project could lead to the development of tailored tools that significantly improve help-seeking behaviors among men with suicidal thoughts.
How similar studies have performed: While there are ongoing studies addressing men's mental health and suicide prevention, this co-creation approach is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
